World Electronic Waste Day

14 Oct 2026

International E-Waste Day is observed annually on October 14 to raise awareness regarding the importance of recycling electronic devices and mitigating their adverse environmental impacts.

The theme for this year is:
“Fast Tech“

This refers to the small, ubiquitous electronic devices integrated into our daily lives (such as cables, earphones, batteries, and adapters) that are frequently underestimated and discarded alongside household waste. Consequently, this leads to the accumulation of massive and growing quantities of such products as they leave daily circulation each year, with the vast majority escaping proper collection or recycling processes.

Within the framework of the authority (TPRA) responsibilities and mandate concerning the protection of human health and the environment from the hazards of e-waste, as well as the risks associated with improper recycling or unsafe disposal, the authority has issued regulatory directives and procedures aimed at reducing and managing e-waste to foster a safe, advanced, and sustainable telecommunications environment.
